If you are an artist, many answers to your questions
will be answered in detail in the Non Exclusive License Agreement
on the registration page or on the image upload guide, but some
of the biggest questions are covered here as well for everyone’s
convenience.
- Q: If I register as an artist, how much money
will I make per sale of a shirt design?
A: Each artist is paid a total of $5.00 per sale
of their design. This holds true until a single purchase exceeds
20 shirts of the same kind, in which case bulk pricing applies.
In any case of bulk pricing artists are paid 25 percent of the
gross revenues, before taxes and shipping that are paid by the
buyer. Artists will be notified directly by Art Life Collective
when a bulk purchase has taken place.
- Q:If I upload images to your site, how do
I know that others will not be able to steal my work simply by
saving a copy directly from the site? Basically, how does ALC
prevent image piracy?
A: Most of the views of artists’ imagery
on this site are too small to be useful to image thieves; however
there is an expanded view available that raised similar concerns
among staff. To deal with the issue, all expanded views are heavily
watermarked to prevent image piracy.
- Q:How will I know when my design has been
purchased? What guarantee do I have I will be paid?
A: Artists will be informed automatically via e-mail
each time an image of theirs has been purchased. The Non-Exclusive
agreement the artist agrees to at the time of registration legally
binds ALC to pay as directed in the agreement. Frequency of payments
will be made according to the artist’s preference.
- Q: I am not an artist, but would like to upload
an image to purchase for myself and am having trouble. What do
I do?
A: The image upload guide on the Design Shirt
page and the Artist Admin page should cover most common problems
and questions associated with uploading and placing an image
on your shirt design. However, if you are still encountering
problems please e-mail us at support@artlifecollective.com.
We will be happy to help with any difficulties.

- Q:How does Art Life Collective keep such a
large inventory of shirt designs and colors, and what is the printing
process?
A: ALC does not use a traditional
screen printing process. Instead we employ a printing process
called direct-to-garment printing. It is a digital process.
Each shirt is made to order at the time of purchase. The fabric
is literally died with ink using non-toxic, water-based pigments
which are then treated on a heat press at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
The end result is a rich, colorful image that is permanently
bound to the fibers of the shirt without leaving the plastic-like
feeling of traditional screen printing. The images hold up wash
after wash.
- Q: If I want to delete an image from the site,
what do I do?
A: Artists may remove their work or add additional
images (up to 12 images) at any time simply by logging in and
deleting or adding images. It’s that simple.
- Q: How long will I have to wait to receive
my shirt?
A: Art Life Collective processes orders as
quickly as possible, so, depending on your chosen method of
shipment, you may receive it in a few days at the soonest. If
for some reason there is an abnormal delay, you will be notified
immediately via e-mail.
- Q: What is ALC’s return and exchange
policy?
A: Because each shirt is made-to-order, ALL SALES
ARE FINAL. However, if there are any defects with the shirt or
the printing of the design, please return the defective shirt
to Art Life Collective, and it will be replaced at no additional
cost to the customer.
